September and October can be two lovely months at Trentfield, especially if you want that quiet break after the summer holidays and the children have gone back to school.
September tends to have quite a number of "harvest" based events such as the Sutton on Trent steam threshing festival.
The Festival of Food and Drink begins at Clumber park in September which brings the cooking theatre and the food marquee with lots of yummy samples! There is also live music and other exciting activities.
In Rufford park you can enjoy the On the Home Front 1940s living history weekend. You can experience war time Britain through many different period activities. There is something for the whole family from baby boot camp to the 1940s market.
October brings the CAMRA beer festival at Gainsborough Old Hall and the Robin Hood game and country show. The show takes place in Newark Showground and has many activites such as jousting and field sports. Also you can take part in the Bramley apple festival which takes place in Southwell. There will be Morris Men dancing and music as well as everything connected to the bramley apple.
Half term is always popular at Trentfield, so please do book early.
